About Jeff
Hello! I'm Jeff, a Graduate Writing Consultant and Master of Social Work (MSW) student who is passionate about helping students become stronger, more confident writers.
My academic background includes a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and I currently work with university students to improve their academic writing through individualized feedback and coaching. I've helped students strengthen essays, research papers, literature reviews, discussion posts, and APA formatting while focusing on clarity, organization, critical thinking, and academic integrity.
I believe every student can become a better writer with the right guidance. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student's learning needs. Rather than simply editing your work, I'll teach you the strategies behind effective writing so you can apply those skills independently in future courses.
Whether you're struggling to get started, organizing a research paper, refining your arguments, or polishing a final draft, I'll work alongside you to help you understand the writing process from beginning to end. My goal is not only to help you earn better grades but also to develop the confidence and communication skills that will benefit you throughout your academic and professional career.
I welcome students from high school through graduate school and enjoy working with learners from a variety of academic backgrounds. Every session is a supportive, judgment-free environment where questions are encouraged, progress is celebrated, and learning comes first.

Writing is a skill that can be learned, and my goal is to help students become confident, independent writers rather than simply completing assignments for them. As a Graduate Writing Consultant and Master of Social Work (MSW) student, I have experience working with undergraduate and graduate students on a wide variety of academic writing projects across multiple disciplines.
My teaching approach is collaborative and student-centered. Every lesson is tailored to your goals, current skill level, and assignment requirements. Rather than just correcting mistakes, I explain why changes improve your writing so you can apply those skills to future assignments with confidence.
A typical lesson may include:
Reviewing your assignment prompt and grading rubric.
Developing a clear thesis and organized outline.
Strengthening paragraph structure, clarity, and logical flow.
Improving grammar, sentence structure, and academic tone.
Learning proper APA formatting and citation practices.
Reviewing feedback from instructors and creating a plan for revisions.
I can help with:
Essays
Research papers
Literature reviews
Case studies
Discussion posts
Annotated bibliographies
APA formatting and citations
Editing and proofreading
Graduate school writing
Research organization and source integration
What sets me apart is my experience as a university Graduate Writing Consultant. I understand the expectations of college-level writing and focus on helping students develop lasting skills in organization, critical thinking, and academic communication. My sessions are supportive, encouraging, and designed to build confidence while maintaining academic integrity.
My lessons are ideal for high school students preparing for college, undergraduate students, graduate students, adult learners returning to school, and English language learners who want additional support with academic writing. Whether you need help starting an assignment, organizing your ideas, revising a final draft, or preparing for graduate-level writing, I will provide personalized guidance to help you achieve your academic goals.
