About Alex
I have achieved a first in Mathematics from Imperial College London and achieved 4 A*s in A-level in Mathematics, Physics, Further Mathematics, and Chemistry. I am an experienced tutor having dealt with students across many ages and skill levels, and I have helped many of these people achieve grades far better than what they were predicted. I believe too many people see Mathematics and Physics as scary subjects, but more often than not it becomes much more digestible and understandable when correctly explained to them.

I tailor each lesson to the individual, gaining an understanding of their level and strengths first. I find Socratic questioning works best for gaining a proper understanding of mathematical and physical concepts. Typically I'll do 1-hour lessons, however, I am happy for them to be extended longer. I have tutored for 4 years for Ludowide, Mytutor, and StemMentoring teaching all levels from KS3 to early university. As somebody who has studied Mathematics and Physics to the tertiary level, I have a very good intuition for what a student is thinking when they get a question wrong. This means I can more easily diagnose where in the process they are making a mistake.
