About Lina
Hi! My name is Lina, and I am a McGill University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology and a Master of Science candidate in Experimental Medicine. I have 8+ years of experience working with middle school and high school students.
My teaching style is collaborative and student-focused. I see tutoring as a team effort: I guide and encourage students as they work through problems themselves, helping them build confidence and independence rather than just following solutions.
Lessons are structured and goal-oriented but flexible to each student’s needs. I create a supportive space where questions are welcome, effort is valued, and progress is celebrated.
As a former track team captain at McGill University, I bring a leadership mindset to my tutoring. I will support you, motivate you, and work alongside you to help you reach your academic goals with consistency and confidence.

My name is Lina, and my approach as a tutor is centered on helping students truly understand concepts rather than relying on memorization: understanding why something works is way more effective than memorizing it.
A typical lesson starts with what the student needs help with, guiding questions and working through examples with the student. I really want to encourage them to lead the process while I support and correct as needed. We finish with a quick recap and practical strategies they can use on their own.
What sets me apart is my strong science background and multiple years of tutoring and mentorship experience with middle and high school students. I’m patient, approachable, and focused on building real understanding and confidence.
My lessons are typically for middle school and high school students, especially those looking for help in biology, English, study skills, or exam prep.
