About Sara
Goodmorning everyone! My name is Sara Portaro and I am a singer / performer and singing teacher from Bologna, but currently residing in Milan. My musical training begins at an early age and continues with the study of the cello and classical music at the GB Martini Conservatory in Bologna. Following the scientific maturity, I moved to Milan where I graduated in the Music Academy course at the MAS Academy in Milan in 2018. In this path I was able to deepen the study of singing in different styles such as pop, rock, jazz and musical and I participated in national tours with some theatrical productions. Currently I divide my career between the activity of singer and performer (with different formations active on the national territory) and that of teacher, both privately and in some schools with which I collaborate, such as the MAS in Milan and L'Opificio-Fucina Musicale di San Giovanni in Persiceto (BO).

My teaching method tries to adapt as much as possible to the needs of the student, to keep interest high and be able to make the most of individual potentials. My typical lesson in a basic course is divided into 3 main parts: - A part dedicated to general music theory and ear training, which I believe are fundamental parts for the learning of a singer. - A part dedicated to vocal technique. (Obviously proportionate to the level of the student, i.e. technical and breathing fundamentals in a basic course, and a more advanced and specific technique so as not to be new to the study of singing. - construction of a repertoire suited to the needs and tastes of the student in search for a stylistic identity and a portfolio of songs to be able to have in case of performances or other events. My lessons are aimed at students of any level or interest, both for those who want to approach singing purely as a hobby and fun, and for those who want support in a more professional studio.
