About Zahra
Sharing knowledge is my passion, and this has been motivated by my experiences. Growing up in a disadvantaged area, I quickly saw the effect of teachers on the growth of student capabilities. Where students did not have the right support system, they lacked confidence in their work. From there, I began interventions for my own friends, constantly looking to support them so they did not feel left behind.
Achieving an A* at GCSE, and a First class honours in Mathematics has provided solid evidence of my love for this subject.
If I can make a change to any student’s life and encourage their capabilities, pushing them to see mathematics as fun rather than a chore then I feel fulfilled!

I take a hands on approach when teaching students, tailoring lessons to meet specific needs. For example, GCSE students are provided with comprehensive revision sessions that consist of a variety of exam style questions.
It is important that students can increase their confidence in mathematics through practice. Problem solving, systematic thinking and technical skills are just many of the capabilities that students can look to extend.
Similarly, I encourage a strong focus on understanding basic fundamentals of mathematics. This allows students of lesser capabilities to ground their knowledge to then progress and achieve their potential.
It is important that students feel comfortable, so maintaining an engaging and formal relationship is essential. Consistently communicating with students has enabled me to provide the correct support and learning, and that has been made evident through my experiences.
