About Alexis

Since the very beginning of my academic career, I have always been drawn to the English subject. When I applied to high school, I took up the opportunity to be part of the Advanced Placement Program, which I took part in for the entirety of those four years. That means writing university level exams as early as when I started in grade 9! Now that I am in my graduating year of university with a Bachelor’s of English degree, I want to be able to share my new insights and teachings, and help those who want to better themselves among the subject. I have adapted to newer and simpler methods of essay writing, thesis statements and literary analysis, which I deem useful and effective in my current studies. I believe that what I have learned will help others as well! I have previously tutored family friends and members who struggled with English, and from that, they were able to take what I taught them and apply it to their studies, which did have a positive impact on their grades! My favorite part of this was seeing how excited and happy these children were to see their hard work pay off, and learning new effective skills which will stay with them for the entirety of their academic studies!

About the lesson

Hi there! As someone who has taken up English as a major in my undergrad degree, I love helping those who find struggle in excelling in the language! I personally know how complex and challenging it can be to master English, and I would love to help in any way that I can to help others succeed and excel. I am particularly well versed in essay writing, essay preparation and conceptualizing literary texts, which plays a major role when it comes to completing written assignments and tests! I would love to be able to apply the techniques and tricks I have learned over the years to better those who feel they need some extra help! I love finding fun and interesting ways to teach, so that rather than it feeling like a lesson, I am able to create a safe and comfortable space, and help guide you onto the right path for achieving your personal goals! Just as much as I would be helping you, you would also be helping me! We will both take lessons from the teachings and learn new things together, which is what English is all about! I am excited to get to know you are as a student and use the skills you already possess to strengthen your foundational traits and skills and highlight them in your academic work!
