About Lauren
Hello! My name is Lauren McCoy, and I am a licensed elementary teacher from West Virginia. I graduated from Marshall University, a college that is especially meaningful to me because it is located in my hometown. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught first grade, second grade, and fifth grade, giving me experience working with students across a variety of ages and learning needs.
Outside of teaching, I am always spending time with my family and my many pets. My husband and I are also excited to be expecting our first child, a baby girl, this November.
I am passionate about helping children grow academically and build confidence in their abilities. I believe every child can succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and instruction tailored to their individual needs. I look forward to partnering with families and helping kiddos reach their full potential!

My tutoring sessions are designed for K–5 students in all subject areas. I use a personalized, data-driven approach to identify your student’s strengths and areas for growth.
My lessons typically include a brief review, targeted instruction, and a guided practice. At any opportunity, I love to incorporate fun learning games and interactive activities to keep students engaged, build confidence, and make learning enjoyable!
As a licensed elementary teacher, I use proven instructional strategies while creating a positive, encouraging environment. I can align my teaching methods and delivery with your child’s school curriculum to provide consistent support and reinforce classroom learning!
