About Kathryn
I have been a dedicated English teacher for 9 years. I am enthusiastic about my subject and believe I have the best job in the world!
I graduated from the University of Glasgow (MA English) and the University of Strathclyde (PGDE Secondary English).
I worked for two years in the central belt of Scotland and have since made my home in Aberdeen, having lived here for seven years.

I am very experienced in teaching all SQA exam levels: National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher.
I am skilled in producing differentiated and engaging materials for all Curriculum for Excellence levels in order to reduce any barriers to success.
All lessons will be tailored to the individual learner, with a plan put in place to ensure appropriate pace and challenge for you.
I take pride in the positive relationships I form with my students while supporting them to take autonomy in their learning.
You can expect homework and feedback on tasks completed outside of lessons included in your fee. I am only ever an email away for questions outside of lessons, too. Please get in touch if you need support with your English work at any level - I would love to help!

Perfect! She explains things very well and is very friendly.
Perfect! Since starting his lessons with Kathryn, my son’s confidence has grown in Higher English. He finds Kathryn explains concepts well and he enjoys the lessons.
- Liam was able to clearly express where he has difficulties with the Higher course, and he responded thoughtfully to some practice RUAE questions for our introductory lesson. Liam has a positive attitude towards his learning, even when faced with a tricky question that requires careful decoding, and I am looking forward to supporting him with his Higher English. Perfect! Contacted Kathryn in regards to helping my daughter in English. It's only been a couple lessons but my daughter has set up an excellent relationship with Kathryn that is clearly going to benefit my daughter improve her English skill set prior to her exams. Would highly recommend Kathryn.
