About Griffin
I am a multi-instrumentalist with a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music and experience in live performance, session work, and most importantly, in teaching. I have taught students of varying ages, including young children and older adults, in both individual and group settings. Having picked up the guitar at a young age, I don't believe it's ever too early or too late to start. We can also discuss things such as songwriting, music production, and music business, all of which I studied in some capacity at Berklee. I also have experience in recording and post-production studios.

My methods vary depending on the student's individual goals. I create custom materials for my students. I'm just as open to learning rock and pop songs as I am to diving deep into jazz theory. In any case, I emphasize good technique and help you to understanding of what is happening in the music to aid in ease of future learning. I use a wide variety of resources, from my own materials, to books (not required), to online materials. Above all, it's about having a good time and working on what excites the student.
Additionally, students have the option of purchasing lessons that include custom, note-for-note transcriptions of the songs they love (including tab, standard notation, and an audio track). Many tabs and transcriptions online are inaccurate or difficult to follow but with my transcriptions, you won't have any more doubts.

*Custom materials explaining concepts discussed in lesson are free of charge. The transcription package includes one full-length (songs less than 4 minutes) transcription per lesson, which includes an audio track, standard transcription, and tablature.
