About Asha
I am a guitar teacher with 11 years of experience, specialising in songwriting, composition, and artist development. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Guitar Emphasis. My passion lies in helping students write original music and build their own unique style. I guide aspiring singer-songwriters and independent musicians through every step of the creative process. Lessons cover chord progressions, melody writing, lyric crafting, and arranging music for different styles. I also focus on recording techniques and producing tracks that showcase each student’s personal sound. My approach is hands-on and personalised, adapting to each student’s goals and musical interests. I encourage experimentation and creative risk-taking. Students gain confidence in performing their own songs and expressing themselves authentically. I have mentored many emerging artists, helping them develop a strong artistic identity. My teaching approach focuses on helping students grow as confident and passionate guitar players. I cover guitar techniques across classical, jazz, electric, bass, and acoustic styles. Students also explore the roots of different genres, the history of music, and how cultural traditions influence modern guitar playing. This helps them connect deeply with the music they play. I emphasise improvisation, expression, and emotional connection in every lesson. I guide students to excel in both performance and worship-style music, supporting their personal growth and musical creativity. Lessons include reading, ear training, and composing, giving a complete understanding of guitar music. My aim is not just skill, but developing a love and respect for music. I encourage regular practice and provide clear, structured exercises. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace and interests. I also introduce students to iconic artists and styles, showing how tradition shapes today’s guitar music.
