About Gian
Guitarist Gianfranco Mascayano was born in Chile and grew up in Sweden, where he was surrounded by music from various cultures. Gian played guitar at an early age and has a classical and Latin American musical basis. It was not long before his interest in Jazz was aroused and a period of touring, recording and performing with various bands and artists took him around the world. Gian obtained his Jazz Guitar Degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and shares his passion for music and the guitar in teaching as well as during performances.

My academic and professional musical life has inspired me to approach my teaching method in a fun, interactive and productive way. Through my broad knowledge of guitar / music theory and interactive tools, I hope to help and inspire students of all ages, levels and genres. Although my specialty is performance and improvisation, I have been teaching different styles on electric and acoustic guitar for over 15 years.
