About Julian
I hold a B.Mus in Classical Guitar and an M.Mus in Contemporary Guitar Performance, with 9 years of teaching experience guiding students from beginners to advanced performers. My teaching philosophy emphasizes technical mastery, expressive development, and performance preparation while nurturing each student’s unique musical identity. I aim to create lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to individual learning goals, fostering both skill and artistry.
I have helped beginners establish fundamental technique, intermediates refine expressive skills and improvisation, and advanced students prepare for performances, auditions, and professional development. Lessons combine structured practice, creative exploration, repertoire study, and performance simulation, providing a comprehensive learning experience.
Outside the classroom, I perform, compose, and study contemporary guitar techniques, bringing real-world experience and musical insight into lessons. Watching students progress from hesitant players to confident, expressive musicians is deeply fulfilling. My mission is to cultivate technical proficiency, musicality, and a lifelong passion for guitar in every student.

Guitar lessons are most effective when learners develop technical skill, musical understanding, and expressive artistry together. I focus on chord progression, fingerstyle technique, scales, soloing, improvisation, tone shaping, stage presence, phrasing, music theory, and performance preparation. Lessons are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s level, enabling learners to progress confidently while enjoying creative exploration. I foster a safe environment for experimentation, helping students overcome challenges, build technical proficiency, and develop their unique musical voice.
Beginners start with foundational chords, strumming patterns, simple scales, basic rhythm, and finger coordination to develop a solid technical and musical base. Intermediate learners refine improvisation, soloing, tone control, musical phrasing, and repertoire interpretation while developing confidence in performance. Advanced learners focus on advanced techniques, stylistic interpretation, performance preparation, and expressive artistry. Each lesson incorporates structured exercises, guided practice, and constructive feedback to ensure consistent improvement and skill development.
Studying guitar strengthens musicality, creativity, and confidence. Students gain the ability to perform confidently, express themselves musically, and develop a deeper appreciation for music. My goal is to help learners integrate technical skill with expressive freedom, fostering versatile, confident, and creative musicians capable of performing authentically and passionately.
