About Trevor
A professional musician with cert Ed, and 15 years teaching at college and university level. I am also qualified to work with people with learning problems and have combined the two careers for many years!
As a performer I work across many genres, including working with touring bands and the function circuit. I continue my own learning and have spent the last 6 years refining my bluegrass playing, a relatively new passion

It’s important to start with what each student wants to learn, and why they’re having lessons. Most people pick up an instrument cos there’s a sound they hear in their head, and that they want to make. Sometimes a specific player or style or just the noise of that instrument.
I also focus on how people learn, and have in depth knowledge of different ways people learn. I also keep myself up,to date in the most current approaches to learning (it’s fascinating!)

Nice meeting you in the virtual world. It felt easy getting ideas across, and hope it was same for you
You played some nice DAGAD grooves. You felt that you wanted some suggestions for what to practice to move your playing on. We looked at a right hand exercise to,get your thumb involved in the groove.
Also a discussion around how to practice.
For future lessons we agreed to look at continuing development of your right hand and also look at some blues in standard tuning.
