About Nathan
I have been playing instruments since I was 7. I feel that music is an extremely important and powerful tool of self-expression, especially among young people. Although music lessons and instrument lessons in schools are helpful, from experience they can sometimes lack the personality that I had in my music lessons when I was younger. I hope to inspire people to play to the best of their ability.

My approach to teaching music stems from my upbringing in bands. I was classically trained as a brass player, before moving on to piano and guitar. My speciality is guitar even though I continue to play in brass bands. I now tutor guitar.
Tutoring will start with a few foundational lessons. I believe that it’s important to learn the why as well as the how. Lessons will include an emphasis on music theory as well as technique through scales and exercises and a good amount of playing fun pieces.
Lessons will typically take an hour with the ability to scale up and down as needed.
These lessons are for beginners of all ages. I believe they are a great place to start even if you have no experience in music at all, although a small amount of beginner knowledge is encouraged.
