About Simon
I’m Simon Kennedy, a guitarist with over 35 years’ playing experience and 25 years’ teaching experience. Alongside teaching, I’ve worked professionally as a performer and recording guitarist — releasing my own material, writing for other artists, producing, and doing session work. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students who’ve gone on to professional careers, with some continuing their studies at places like the Berlin Institute of Music and Perth College. But whether your goal is the stage, the studio, or simply playing at home for the sheer joy of it, the heart of it is the same: everyone plays for the love of guitar. My lessons are practical and goal-focused: we’ll build strong foundations (timing, technique, chords, fretboard knowledge) and then apply them to real music — riffs, songs, solos, improvisation, and tone. Whether you’re a complete beginner, getting back into guitar, or you’ve hit a plateau and want to level up, I’ll tailor the plan to the style you love and the progress you want.
