About Emery
Rhythm guitar, songwriting, and complex scales define my technical foundation. 13 years of experience have kept me gigging across the American South and Southwest. I currently work with teens, working professionals, and adults who want to understand the instrument.
I have helped many students over my career. My teaching style is hands-on and very patient. It just started because people kept asking how I did it.

Picking up the guitar is not about reading sheet music first. Your voice should follow the guitar rather than the other way around. Since I am a USC music graduate, I ensure we focus on lead guitar, improvisation, and barre chords.
You get a practice module with every lesson to keep momentum high. These tools help you master the mechanics of your chosen songs. I lean into the technical side of soloing and music theory. You will eventually find your own sound and style during our time together.
