About Zaya
I have 8 years of experience teaching guitar to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced performers. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Guitar Performance and Music Pedagogy, equipping me with extensive knowledge of technique, theory, performance, and teaching methodology. This enables me to create lessons that integrate skill-building with expressive musical growth.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes individualized instruction, patience, and encouragement. I help students understand technique deeply while exploring creative expression. Lessons blend structured skill exercises with repertoire practice, improvisation, and performance guidance to ensure steady progress and sustained motivation.
Outside of teaching, I perform regularly, study diverse musical genres, and develop new approaches to guitar pedagogy. Teaching guitar is profoundly rewarding because I witness learners transform from hesitant beginners into confident, expressive musicians capable of performing, improvising, and creating with skill and confidence. Supporting their growth and musical journey is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

My guitar lessons are structured to build technical proficiency, expressive playing, and musical creativity. Students work on fingerstyle technique, chord progressions, scales, arpeggios, rhythm exercises, improvisation, and musical interpretation. Each lesson focuses on connecting technical skills with musicality, allowing learners to develop their own voice while mastering essential techniques. I encourage creativity, exploration, and performance confidence, ensuring lessons are both challenging and enjoyable.
Lessons are personalized based on student level. Beginners learn basic chords, simple melodies, strumming, and finger placement to build a solid foundation. Intermediate learners focus on barre chords, soloing techniques, improvisation exercises, music reading, and repertoire development. Advanced students refine technical accuracy, stylistic interpretation, improvisation, performance preparation, and recording or audition skills. Lessons also integrate ear training, composition exercises, and structured practice to foster independent learning and musical growth.
Beyond technical skill, guitar lessons cultivate artistic expression, problem-solving, and self-confidence. Students develop the ability to perform authentically, improvise creatively, and interpret music with nuance. My goal is to guide learners to become versatile, expressive, and technically skilled guitarists who enjoy both the process and the art of music.
