About Lydia
I am a passionate guitar educator with 11 years of playing and teaching experience, and I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music with Guitar Emphasis.
Music has always been more than a skill for me; it is how I express ideas, stories, and emotion.
I especially love arranging and composing music, turning simple melodies into rich and dynamic pieces.
My teaching style is structured yet engaging.
I believe strong foundations create confident musicians, so I focus deeply on scales, modes, rhythm accuracy, and fretboard understanding.
At the same time, I make lessons creative and practical so students stay inspired.
I guide learners through songwriting, improvisation, and performance preparation with clear step-by-step methods.
Intermediate to advanced students benefit from detailed technical refinement and musical expression training.
For career-focused musicians, I provide support in building repertoire, stage confidence, and professional readiness.
I encourage discipline, creativity, and consistency in practice.
My goal is to help each student discover their unique musical voice while mastering the craft of guitar.

My teaching approach is student-centered, practical, and inspiring.
I begin by understanding each learner’s goals, level, and musical taste.
From there, I design structured lessons that build strong foundations in posture, technique, chord clarity, and tone control.
Rhythm practice is a core part of my method.
We work deeply on groove development, strumming patterns, picking dynamics, and tempo control using metronomes and backing tracks.
Students learn how to feel timing naturally, not just count it.
I teach across styles like blues, funk, and folk, helping students understand how rhythm, phrasing, and articulation change in each genre.
We also explore ear training, chord progressions, improvisation basics, and songwriting elements to make learning complete and musical.
For those who love leading group sing-alongs or playing in worship settings, I focus on confident strumming, smooth chord transitions, set building, and supporting vocals effectively.
Students learn how to guide a room with steady rhythm and expressive dynamics.
Practice plans are clear and achievable.
I encourage creativity, stage confidence, and performance skills from early stages.
