I’m a guitar teacher with over 10 years of experience and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Guitar Studies. My passion lies in helping students sharpen their ears and unlock the full potential of their playing. I specialize in advanced ear training for guitarists, with a strong focus on transcribing solos, recognizing chord progressions by ear, and developing perfect or near-perfect pitch. Whether you're chasing complex jazz changes or your favorite rock solo, I’ll guide you step by step. My lessons are hands-on, practical, and designed to connect your ear to your fretboard. My guitar teaching approach centers around training the ear to truly understand music. I believe listening is just as important as playing. That’s why I focus heavily on ear training, melodic dictation, interval recognition, and song transcription. These skills help students hear patterns, recognize notes, and play with more confidence.
Each lesson blends practical playing with focused aural exercises. I work especially well with The Campfire Strummer and The Blues Seeker—helping them go beyond chords into real musical expression. You’ll learn to pick out melodies by ear and follow the changes in your favorite songs. We’ll break things down step by step so that even tricky progressions start to make sense.
I also include rhythm work and tone shaping to support overall development. My goal is to make ear training feel natural and useful. With time, your playing won’t just sound better—it will feel more connected. I’m here to support your journey toward confident, musical guitar playing.
