Hi, I am Hanna! I am a certified Spanish teacher with a Master's degree in Education and four years of experience teaching high school Spanish at a college preparatory school in Chicago.

About Hanna
I grew up fascinated by language, and it started earlier than most. In high school, I did a student exchange in Barcelona, and that experience sparked something in me that never went away. I went on to study abroad in Madrid in college, earned a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Spanish from Marquette University, and later a Master's degree in Education from Loyola University Chicago.
For the past four years I have taught high school Spanish at a college preparatory school in the Chicago area, working with students from their very first Spanish class all the way through advanced coursework. I have also presented at national education conferences, led student travel programs to Costa Rica, and designed curriculum used across an entire language department.
I am not a native speaker. I learned Spanish the same way my students do, through hard work, real mistakes, and eventually real conversations. That is exactly why I think I am a good teacher. I know where the confusion happens, I know what actually helps it click, and I genuinely love the moment when it does.
I teach because language opens doors, and I want to help you open yours.

As a tutor, I approach my instruction by listening to my students goals for their language learning. From there, I will integrate interesting, thoughtful, and high - level lesson plans to meet the needs of my students. My instruction may include oral conversation experience, cross - culture examination, and language writing skills.
