About Fonz

There’s always room for improvement. I believe in the power of setting goals and giving your all to achieve them—but sometimes, we all need a coach, mentor, or tutor to guide us. I wouldn’t have finished my PhD without my partner by my side. As a former college athlete and swimming coach, I know that having someone to support and push you can make all the difference when you feel like giving up. Let me be that guide to help you move forward and achieve your academic dreams.

About the lesson

I immigrated to the USA at 14 with little English and, by 16, earned a 5 on the AP European History exam while being named High School Swimmer of the Year by the local newspaper. I know what it takes to succeed academically and tailor my lesson plans to each student's unique needs. I have years of tutoring experience, including working with neurodivergent children. I also worked with minority children as an Upward Bound instructor. Currently, I work full-time as an instructional designer at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, specializing in course design and innovative teaching techniques to enhance student engagement. I am committed to helping every student thrive.
