About Paul
I love music, I think it is one of the most beautiful ways for people to distil their experiences and stories into something that we can share. It makes me really happy to give people the tools to expand their storytelling potential, I think that the technical skills and craft I teach are simply a means to that end! I have been teaching for over 3 years and I have studied music production for over a decade. I continue to study (I am currently working towards a Masters) and have established myself in my local scene as a producer, engineer and musician. In my role as a producer I find that it is deeply connected with education, gently guiding people toward their best work!

I love seeing people grow! When it comes to mixing for example, I could spend 20 minutes or so talking through a concept but more importantly then it would be important to allow time for you to practise those skills! I have taught and still teach music production and performance up to Level 5 which is equivalent to Year 2 of an Undergraduate degree (or HND and Foundation degree equivalent). I have taught for 3 years at that level. These classes are for anyone who wants to learn how to make music, preferably someone who is a musician but not necessarily! You are never too old but it will be quite computer-focused so some competence with technology is preferred! I primarily use Logic Pro but I have some experience with Pro Tools, Reaper, Reason, Ableton, Cubase, Adobe Audition and of course Garageband! Don't worry if you don't own software, we can discuss that!
