About Maia
Having done a degree at Durham University, I am now studying Medicine at Queen's University Belfast. I love science and want to instil this enjoyment into my students - for I have found if a student enjoys a topic they are more likely to succeed at it. I have tutored a range of subjects and ages. My favourite subjects to teach are Biology, Chemistry, and History up to GCSE, and Biology at A Level.

Having tutored many students I am aware that people learn very differently and thus I tailor my teaching methods to the individual. I have experience tutoring from 11 plus to A Level. My lessons are normally an hour long.
When I first meet my students we discuss their goals for the future, be it a specific grade or just to become more confident in a particular subject. Then we identify key target areas they want to work on, which guide the following lessons. Between sessions I set optional tasks to check the students understanding. Once a topics we go through exam questions together to put their knowledge into exam context. I believe tutoring should be collaborative, thus I work alongside my students to help them achieve their best.
