About Justin
With years of teaching experience across various regions and with students from diverse backgrounds, I have developed a strong ability to adapt to different situations. Students frequently seek my guidance on both academic and social issues, and I have been honored with Teacher of the Month nominations several times over the past two years. Additionally, as a former basketball coach, I helped new players develop their skills on the court and supported their progress in the classroom by holding them accountable for the work they did and the effort they gave each day. This involvement also benefited other teachers by assisting with students who faced challenges, contributing to a more positive and productive learning environment.

I typically begin each session with a two-part "Do Now" exercise.
Part A consists of four questions:
1. Two questions focusing on the current material being covered.
2. One review question related to previously studied topics or grade-level content.
3. One basic computation question.
Additionally, each "Do Now" will include one to two word problems to further assess problem-solving skills.
Part B is all about getting those math skills sharp. It’s a worksheet that focuses on multiplication and division from 1 to 12, helping to build up your math fluency.
Once the "Do Now" is completed, we dive into the core of the session. I focus on understanding what students recall from the day's lesson so I can address any gaps or clarify misunderstandings. This is also the opportunity to extend their learning if time allows and they’ve demonstrated mastery of the topic.
My success in the classroom reflects my ability to meet students at their current level and support their growth. By providing targeted, manageable, yet challenging tasks, I can assess their existing knowledge while encouraging them to extend beyond their comfort zones.
