About Simran
I hope to provide students with secure subject knowledge. Achieving academic excellence is extremely important to me and I believe that my final ‘outstanding’ overall grade across the Teachers' Standards reflects this.
My teaching style is primarily centred on ensuring there are high levels of engagement. I adapt my teaching style and resources for the needs and requirements of all learners, with a strong ability to differentiate and also provide stretch and challenge. I prefer to use a variety of approaches to keep levels of engagement high. Specifically when studying complex texts/poems. Students learn basic KS4 skills by attempting to tackle these alone first, and they can deconstruct a poem together and develop individual interpretations which will form the foundation of their understanding and guide the lesson. I also aim to address any misconceptions at this point.

I aim to ensure the learning is differentiated, scaffolded and also modelled to support tutees. It is important that I am aware of any SPLD's that the student may have as soon as possible. As this will allow me to support them as best as I possibly can.
I have recently completed my PGCE Secondary with English, therefore I am happy to tutor students between KS3-5.
