About Helena
I am a responsible tutor who is passionate in ensuring my students thrive. Through a clear and patient approach I am focused on guiding my students through any challenge they may face. I truly care about their progress and would ensure I focus on areas they struggle the most in and prioritise marking their work or adhering to any questions they have. I am also independent and outgoing, through making my sessions enjoyable with mini quizzes or niche ways for remembering certain themes/quotes/character backgrounds and analysis. I want my students to enjoy the subject and thrive in it.

I help students to feel both confident and content in English Literature through clear, personalised support. Whether it’s breaking down complex texts, thinking more critically about the meaning of contexts within Form, improving essay technique or even discussing the importance of themes and character analysis. I tailor my sessions to fit the individual's personal learning style, for example: whether they prefer lots of active recall or if they prefer more explaining and listening. With a strong and passionate background in English literature I aim to make the subject not only easier but more enjoyable for my students. Having gone from a C in year 12 to getting an A grade in my English lit A level, I understand the challenges but I deeply believe that consistency and deeper understanding of texts lead to success. I am very confident in the process and excited in helping you on your road to success.

I know Helena as we went to the same secondary school. Helena is so hardworking and driven, not only for herself but for others too. She is great at believing in people which I think is a really credible trait for any tutor - she has always inspired her peers to achieve their best academically.
