About Amy
Outside of the classroom, I am a lifelong learner myself. I have a love of reading and enjoy exploring new ideas, stories, and perspectives — something I am always keen to share with my students. I also have a passion for travel, especially with my family, as it allows me to experience different cultures and ways of life, which in turn enriches the way I teach and connect with others. At the heart of my work is a genuine enjoyment of learning and discovery, and I strive to instil that same curiosity and enthusiasm in my students.

I am currently Head of English at a mainstream secondary school, a position I have proudly held for the past five years. This role has given me extensive knowledge of the GCSE English Language and Literature specifications, as well as a deep understanding of what examiners are looking for. Alongside this, I work as a GCSE examiner, which allows me to give students clear, focused guidance on how to meet assessment requirements with confidence. My teaching style is calm, organised, and methodical, but always tailored to the unique needs of each learner. Having taught in classrooms with a wide range of abilities and learning styles, I am skilled at adapting my approach to ensure every student feels supported and challenged. Whether it’s mastering key analytical skills, developing clear and logical written expression, or preparing for exams, I aim to help students unlock their potential and achieve the best possible outcomes
