About Erin
I am a Head of History and Politics with over 12 years of teaching experience, following on from the completion of my History degree at Cambridge University and PGCE at IOE, UCL.
I am also an examiner for both AQA and Pearson Edexcel at GCSE and A Level, as well as Team Leader for an examining team at A Level for History.
The positive impact that I have on my students has always been the driving force behind my reason for being a teacher and tutor. I want to build your confidence, to hone transferable skills that will support you in future studies or careers, and to support your progress in understanding the course that you are studying. There really is nothing better than that 'light bulb' moment when something finally makes sense, and when I watch my students go on to succeed.

30 minute -1 hour KS3, GCSE and A Level lessons.
All sessions are individually planned to your strengths and areas for improvement, as well as the approaches to learning that work best for you. They draw on my extensive experience as a Head of History and Politics, as an examiner, and as a Teaching and Learning Specialist, to provide bespoke support for you.
They will be discussion based and will use scaffolds and structures to support the development of your extended writing. They will include mini retrieval quizzes to identify weaker areas to work on. They will include revision strategies such as mnemonics and exemplar responses, as well as modelling responses in real time. They will break down the dense text and information into manageable and easily understandable chunks.
