About Stephen
I’m a qualified History teacher with over seven years of classroom experience, currently serving as Head of History at an academy. Throughout my career, I’ve taught in a wide range of settings—including state, academy, city, and private schools—and have supported students of all abilities, from those building confidence to those preparing for Oxbridge entry. Beyond the classroom, I’ve taken on leadership roles including Head of Department, Head of Year, and Head of PSHE, and I’ve recently qualified to lead workshops for other teachers on how to teach IB History. This breadth of experience has deepened both my subject knowledge and my understanding of how to help students achieve their very best.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, combining practical strategies, exam tips, and memorable nuggets of knowledge to make revision and learning effective and engaging. I use a variety of media, from videos and primary sources to interactive activities, keeping lessons dynamic and fun. With a sense of humour and relatable examples, I make history memorable and enjoyable, helping students not just understand content, but retain it confidently for exams.
