About Parth

Hello! I am a dedicated Chess Instructor with a passion for helping young minds master the "Game of Kings." With a strong academic background—currently pursuing a Master’s in Political Science—I bring a disciplined, analytical, and patient approach to every lesson.

I don’t just teach moves; I teach critical thinking, patience, and strategy. Whether your child is a complete beginner or looking to break through their current ELO ceiling, I provide a structured path to improvement that is both challenging and fun.

Why Choose Me?
Global Teaching Experience: I am an active instructor on international platforms like Outschool and Forsyntax, coaching students across the US, UK, and Middle East. I am well-versed in Western teaching standards and communication styles.

Expertise with Young Learners: I specialize in coaching children (ages 5–15). I know how to keep a 6-year-old engaged for an hour using interactive boards, puzzles, and storytelling.

Structured Curriculum: My lessons aren't random. We follow a clear roadmap: from basic piece coordination and tactics to advanced endgame theories and opening repertoires.

Flexible & Reliable: Living in a globalized world, I offer flexible scheduling to accommodate EST, GMT, and GST time zones.

My Teaching Style
I believe chess should be taught through active participation. My classes include:

Game Analysis: Reviewing the student's recent games to identify and fix recurring patterns.

Tactical Drills: Solving curated puzzles to sharpen "board vision."

Live Sparring: Playing practice matches with real-time feedback.

Homework: Providing personalized study material to keep the momentum going between sessions.

0–5 Minutes: The Warm-Up

Start with a "Puzzle of the Day" (Mate-in-1 or Mate-in-2).

Goal: Transition the student’s focus from their school day to the chess board.

5–15 Minutes: Game Review

Analyze 1 or 2 games the student played during the week.

Highlight one "Brilliant Move" to build confidence.

Identify one "Critical Mistake" and explain the logic behind the better move.

15–40 Minutes: The Core Lesson

Introduce a specific theme (e.g., The Power of the Pin, King Safety, or Scholar's Mate Defense).

Show 3–5 examples of this theme on a digital board.

Analyze a short segment of a famous Grandmaster game that illustrates the theme perfectly.

40–55 Minutes: Guided Sparring

Play a practice game with the student starting from a specific position related to the lesson.

Use the "Think Out Loud" method: ask the student to explain their thought process before they move.

Give "Undo" opportunities if they make a mistake that contradicts the day's lesson.

55–60 Minutes: Wrap-up & Mission

Summarize the 3 key takeaways from the lesson.

Assign a "Mission of the Week" (e.g., "Solve 10 back-rank mate puzzles" or "Play 3 games using this new opening").

Briefly mention what the next lesson will cover to keep them excited.
