Hello! I'm Dean and I've been tutoring the SAT and ACT for three years total now. Right now, I'm a soon-to-be PhD student at Rice University, studying Biochemistry.

About Dean
Right now I'm taking a gap year in between getting my Bachelor's in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and getting a PhD at Rice University in Biochemistry. I've been tutoring for three years via another platform, just now moving onto Superprof, and have accrued plenty of experience working with students of all types and capabilities. I'm very confident that working with me will result in an improved score!

I'm a firm believer in the Socratic method to make sure students fully understand how to take tests, which works the best of all teaching methods. We do plenty of practice where I guide you through how to answer questions efficiently and also work on the basic skills needed to work through all types of questions. I will assign homework as requested and will make sure each tutoring client is given a personalized tutoring strategy that works best for them within the given timeframe.
My typical lesson plans involve "flipped classroom" methods which allow students to do the most learning and also utilize tutoring session time most effectively.
As opposed to many others in the tutoring business, I actually focus on HOW to tackle the problems of the test and help build the basic skills alongside them to feel most confident in achieving the scores the student desires. Many tutors just give problems and explain what was right or wrong, I spend the time to explain why so it does not happen again, and your scores improve.
