About Mashaahy
I grew up an avid reader, enthusiastically participating in my school's oratory competitions, writing contests, and debate clubs. I believe that these activities helped me the most with improving my English. Therefore, I like to structure lessons around reading and writing, and finding activities the students like to improve their speaking and writing skills. As for my experience in teaching, my first paid job was at a tuition center that taught children from preschool to middle school. Teaching there made me realize I loved working with kids. When I quit after a year to move abroad, I did not want to stop teaching. That was in 2013, and I have been tutoring as a volunteer or for part-time work, since then. One of the reasons I love teaching is because I connect and work well with kids who have autism, ADHD, or similar neurodevelopmental differences. Teaching them is especially rewarding but so is teaching all of my students! After working in marine conservation and teaching children about oceans, I am currently in university attaining a degree in English and Drama. I plan to then get a Masters in Education so I can make teaching my full-time career. In the meantime, I am happy to help anyone who would like some guidance with their own or their little one's English language and literature!

My lessons are always tailored to the needs of the student incorporating their learning styles and interests into lessons. 12 years of teaching experience has taught me to meet students where they are and teach from there! I teach students from age seven to adults. For younger students I prefer classes to be 1 hour long as they need adequate rest at that age. For adults, I am flexible and allow them to set timings according to their schedules. I am happy to take longer classes for adults.

I hired Mashaahy as an English tutor for a month because my son needed urgent help before his exams. She was busy but made time.
