About Bailey
Hello, it is wonderful to meet you! My name is Bailey, I am a 23 year old college graduate who currently works part time at a bookstore. My passions include: writing, reading, painting, gardening, helping others, exploring, and making friends with every animal I see.
I started tutoring because I love helping people and I believe that I can help others succeed at something that they may feel is impossible. To anyone reading this, I want to tell you it is not impossible. I was a person who believed It was impossible to do well and succeed in school. Then, years later I graduated with magna um laude from HACC in May 2021 with an English degree.
It was a huge life goal to receive great honors and also to be on the schools deans list. I never thought that I would be able to achieve that goal. With hard work, tutoring, and perseverance I was able to not only memorize things, but truly learn and love what I was learning; that is my goal for tutoring. Learning is supposed to be fun and ignite sparks curiosity in you.

When I approach a lesson as a tutor it is highly important to first take into account what my student needs. For our first meeting I like to spend some time getting to know each other to form a level of comfort.
My plan of action when approaching lesson plans is to become a team with the student. Working together rather than separately provides a more safe and warmer learning environment. Everyone learns differently and at different paces, so I feel, it is imperative to coordinate around the students needs and learning styles.
I believe in positive feedback and words of encouragement. Hard work is also vital. At the end of each lesson we will do a recap of what we went over and depending on the lesson plan for that day, the student may or may not have a tiny amount of homework.
My teaching can be adapted to kids anywhere from kindergarten to high school. I have worked with kindergartners previously for about a year where we worked on various subjects throughout the school year including: reading, comprehension, writing, and spelling. I have worked with students on preparing for their PSSA writing and reading comprehension tests. I have assisted in aiding high school students struggling in English classes writing essays for class as well as studying for the SAT's All of these experiences will aid me in helping you or a friend or family member with English.
