Hello!
I teach from a holistic perspective, taking into account each student's interests and needs to deliver engaging, effective lessons that help students master their learning goals. I believe each child is capable of learning and achieving their life goals and dreams, no matter the circumstances; equity and limited resources are usually what separate students from academic success, and I would like to bridge that gap for you and your student.
I specialize in teaching K-6 math and science, using a variety of instructional techniques and manipulatives to target specific misconceptions that prevent students from accessing grade-level content.
A typical session will look like: 1) Introduction to previously discussed Standards/Learning Goals, 2) Student Feedback on Prior Knowledge, 3) Explicit Instruction with Strategies and Real-World Examples, 4) Guided Instruction with Student Practice, 5) Independent Practice with Teacher Assessment, and 6) Closure with Exit Ticket and Student Feedback
