I believe effective learning starts with nurturing a genuine curiosity for a subject. Building confidence in a field of study comes through practice, however, it is important to learn how to apply what is learnt instead of just memorising. Above all, learning is best achieved in a positive, enjoyable and nurturing setting and bring about a sense of accomplishment.
