About Santiago
I was born and raised in Argentina until I moved to Mexico at the age of 12, and Spain later at 14 years old before settling in Canada at 16. Throughout my journey through these countries, I was enrolled in various Spanish courses that taught me to naviguate the nuances of the language. As a result, I am an experienced learner of diverse cultures, having worked as a tutor in Mexico and Spain. Now,
I am a 4th year student at the Ivey Business School pursuing a degree in Honours Business Adminsitration. I hope to leverage my Spanish tool kit in a business setting by moving to Spain with my family once I graduate from university. As a native speaker that has moved and taught students across various Spanish speaking countries , I take pride in my ability to help others navigate this complex language while keeping intact the excitement of learning. My methodology is centred around engagement: with educational and interactive games, audiovisual components and fun exercises designed to get students thinking in Spanish. I am comfortable teaching at different levels, from children to adolescents and young adults. Lastly, I empathize with students and understand that there are different learning curves and needs for all. That is why I enjoy the challenge that comes with figuring out what works for a student and creatively assessing my teaching strategy!
