About Mariana
Hello! I'm Mariana, a Basic Education portuguese student, and education is my greatest vocation and commitment. If you're looking for a responsible, dedicated person with a solid pedagogical foundation, you've come to the right place. My legitimacy and professionalism as a tutor stem from a unique combination of academic training, practical experience, and immense personal rigor. To ensure you feel completely confident, here are some of my professional pillars:
• Up-to-date Pedagogical Training: As a university student in Basic Education, I have access to the latest teaching methodologies, knowing exactly how to structure knowledge and respect the cognitive development of each age group.
• Proven Teaching Experience: I already work as a dance teacher for children, teenagers, and adults. This experience in non-formal education has taught me to manage group dynamics, plan lessons with clear objectives, and keep students motivated and focused, with a great sense of responsibility.
• Certified Language Skills: Having grown up and completed all my schooling in Switzerland, French is my mother tongue. Additionally, I hold the official C1 English certification from Cambridge, guaranteeing high-quality language teaching.
Parents and children can count on my complete punctuality, organization, and transparency. My main goal is to create a learning environment where empathy is combined with results, ensuring that the time invested in my classes translates into true academic and personal success.

My methodology combines the best of both worlds: the pedagogy I'm developing in my degree in Basic Education and the energy of non-formal education I gained as a dance teacher. I believe that we don't all learn in the same way! That's why I use a lot of creativity, patience, and empathy. If it's necessary to use paints, do DIY projects, or create a game to explain a difficult subject, that's exactly what we'll do.
Mistakes aren't a problem; they're just a step towards learning! Our classes will always be a safe and welcoming space. We always start by understanding how you're feeling and what your biggest questions are for the day. Then, we adapt the pace:
If it's a Language class (French or English), we'll focus on conversation, word games, and overcoming shyness.
If it's History or Mythology, we'll transform the subject into a truly enchanting story.
If it's General Academic Support, we organize notebooks, set priorities, and tackle homework with lots of positive energy.
My specializations:
• French: I received all my education in French, I was born abroad and lived there until I was 21, so the language is super natural for me.
• English: I hold a Cambridge C1 certificate.
• Ancient History and Mythology: I graduated with the highest marks in high school and I'm fascinated by the subject!
• Arts and Crafts: I love painting and creating, using crafts as a teaching tool.
• Resilience: I know what it's like to fight for a goal (I overcame many bureaucratic hurdles and exams to get into my course in Portugal), so I never give up on a student!
