About Josh
In my main job, I work as a technology researcher for an Anthropology consultancy, where I travel the world leading multi-country research projects. So if you are in need of career advice as a humanities student, I can help!
I have lots of experience in teaching.
I have volunteered for the Ministry of Stories as a creative writing mentor for the kids. This experience has taught me the importance of how teaching should be about encouraging the imagination and being passionate about a subject
I also worked for Restless Development in India as part of ICS and as part of that experience I learnt how to deliver a clear message.
I've also become a creative teacher from these experiences. Since being back I have worked as a workshop facilitator for NCS - the Challenge, teaching young adults the importance of story telling and enterprise.
Also, I worked for the Teaching Foundation Trust so have some inside knowledge on ways to excel in your exam!

When studying History, English and Classics it is so important to explore the topics. It's about the characters, the drama and the politics. My classes direct students towards the books, the plays, the TV shows and documentaries that bring to life these periods. You need to interact with these events in order to remember the stories that are part of these subjects. It is at this point you can start formulating your arguments and your opinions. This is the first step to exam success.
This is where exam techniques comes into play. You need to remember and have opinions but the most important thing is writing them down in the exams. As a recent student myself, I teach all of the exam tips to get the great grades. It really is just a simple formula.
Immersion, memory, argument and exam technique - these are all you need to exceed and my lessons aim to provide that.
