About Kristin

As a recent HSC student, I am incredibly familiar with the struggles and wonders of this incredible subject and the many forms it takes- essay writing, deep dive analysis into texts, and of course, the dreaded exam!
My aim as a tutor is to de-mystify the vagueness associated with English and alike writing subjects, providing a practical and positively-framed approach to achieving highly without academic anxiety.

A little bit about me and my academic journey:
- High Achieving (Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 (4 unit) English student (96.2 ATAR)
- 2023 Year 11 All Rounder (Straight A's)
- Achievements in Premier's Debating Challenge, DaVinci Decathlon

I am a huge bookworm and love all things creative- the arts, theatre and of course, writing.
However, I believe that ANYONE can achieve highly in English regardless of their enthusiasm towards books, with the right dedication and mentorship.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is entirely tailored to the needs of the student, but generally what I can offer your child as a tutor is
- Assistance/guidance with assessment tasks or classwork
- Academic extension within the subject of English (additional activities, homework, reading etc.)
- Development of essay writing skills and textual study
- Time management/study strategies to achieve higher marks alongside lower stress levels and development of academic confidence
Whether your child is struggling with the fast-paced nature of school curriculums, or is keen to be extended with goals of completing Advanced and Extension English HSC courses in future, tutoring as an additional resource can be incredibly useful in building academic confidence through dedicated study time and personalised teaching approaches.

Regarding logistics:
I operate tutoring sessions online via. a platform like Zoom or Teams, which can be discussed between upon consultation.
I can offer half hour, forty five minute or hour long sessions dependent on the needs or preferences of the student and their family, on a weekly or fortnightly basis. If your student requires/prefers more frequent sessions, I'm more than happy to discuss further options!
Before the first paid tutoring session, I will typically conduct a phone/video call to discuss logistics and get to know your child and their needs (this can take place in email/message form if necessary too!).
