About Sarah
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor with a strong academic background in mathematics and science. As a recent high school graduate planning to study Engineering at the University of Queensland, I have developed a deep understanding of problem-solving, analytical thinking, and effective study strategies. I approach tutoring in a structured, supportive, and student-focused way. I prioritize clear explanations, patience, and building confidence, particularly for students who may feel overwhelmed or unsure in their abilities. I aim to create a calm, professional, and judgment-free learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with challenging material. Through extensive experience assisting classmates, participating in debating competitions, school leadership, and volunteering, I have developed strong communication skills and an ability to quickly adapt my teaching to suit individual learning styles. I am organized, reliable, and committed to helping students make genuine progress and gain confidence in their learning.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, supportive, and structured. I focus on building a strong understanding of core concepts before moving on to exam-style questions or application. I adapt my explanations to suit different learning styles, using step-by-step breakdowns, worked examples, and guided practice to build confidence and independence. I place strong emphasis on encouragement, clarity, and creating a judgement-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
Lessons will typically run for 60 minutes, which allows enough time for concept explanation, practice, and feedback. I am a recent high school graduate planning to study Engineering at the University of Queensland. I achieved strong results across all subjects, particularly in mathematics and science subjects, and I have participated in Science and Mathematics Olympiads throughout high school.
