About Nami
I love teaching because there is nothing more meaningful to me than watching a student finally understand a concept that once felt impossible. Seeing that moment when their eyes light up—when reading becomes smoother, a sentence finally clicks, or a writing idea comes together—reminds me why I chose this path. I approach every lesson with patience, encouragement, and genuine care, because I believe students learn best when they feel supported and capable. Helping kids grow in confidence, not just skill, is what motivates me, and I take pride in creating a calm, positive space where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and celebrate their progress.

I use a patient, encouraging approach that helps younger students build strong reading and writing foundations by breaking skills into clear steps, modeling strategies, and using age‑appropriate examples. A typical lesson starts with a short warm‑up, moves into one focused skill with guided practice, and ends with a quick review and goal‑setting to reinforce confidence and progress. What sets me apart is my training as a secondary‑education English major, my NEHS background, and my ability to adapt lessons to each child’s pace and learning style while keeping the environment positive and supportive. My tutoring is designed for elementary and middle‑school students who need help with reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, writing, and general English confidence.
