About Tamiah
My name is Tamiah Foster, and I am a dedicated junior in high school who has maintained straight A’s throughout my entire high school career. I have a strong passion for helping younger students grow confident in their math skills, especially in elementary math and Algebra 1. I teach with patience, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility. I always make sure my lessons are clear, and I break down difficult ideas so students don’t feel overwhelmed. I want my students to feel supported, respected, and encouraged during every lesson. What makes me stand out as a tutor is my ability to relate to students while still staying professional. I understand what it feels like to struggle with a topic, and I use that experience to teach in a way that actually connects. I’m dependable, organized, and committed to helping every student become more confident in their math skills. I truly care about the success of the students I work with, and I’m here to help them reach their goals with patience and positivity.

A Typical lesson plan
Quick warm-up: Review previous skills to refresh the student’s memory
2. Mini-lesson: Introduce or reteach the main concept in a simple, clear way
3. Guided practice: Work through problems together while I support their thinking
4. Independent practice: The student completes problems on their own as I observe
5. Check-in: Correct mistakes, answer questions, and reinforce understanding
6. Exit Ticket: Short problem dealing with whatever was covered that day as well as optional homework or practice tips
