About Owen
The study of English literature is something that calls for creativity - my tutoring style aims to encourage and inspire students to take control of their own research, and bring their own ideas to debates on language, meaning and theory. Having completed my undergraduate degree in English at King's College London, I capitalised on the resources available in London including Senate House Library and the National Archives. I have a particular interest in drama and close-reading.
I achieved 100% in my AQA GCSE English and A-Level exams and coursework, and am comfortable perusing through a syllabus and marking rubric to ensure students cover all bases to obtain the best possible marks.
I have tutored other undergraduate students, and taught in classrooms through the university's wider outreach programme, as well as held a teaching position as a Music teacher at a primary school.
I was also editor-in-chief of a university newspaper, and have a proofreading business.
My ultimate focus is to inspire students to take ownership of their studies and enjoy the notion of contributing to the body of work that English literature has to offer.
