I am a recent high school graduate with a strong ATAR, and I have achieved Band 6 in the advanced mathematics and Extension 1 courses for the HSC.
My approach to tutoring is centred around fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring mathematical concepts. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching methods to meet their individual needs. I use direct instruction, interactive problem-solving and real-world applications to help students grasp advanced mathematical concepts.
I often start with a brief review of the material, followed by guided practice where I work through problems alongside the student. I encourage them to explain their thought process, which helps me identify areas requiring additional focus. I use online tools and resources to enhance understanding and engagement.
Typically, my lessons last for 60 to 90 minutes. This allows ample time for instruction, practice, and addressing any questions. I ensure that the session is structured but flexible enough to adapt to the student’s pace and needs.
My lessons are designed for high school students, particularly those studying advanced mathematics and Extension 1 for the HSC.
I work with students of varying abilities, from those seeking to improve their understanding of the material to those preparing for exams and looking to achieve high marks.
