About Mieke

My name is Mieke Jonker and I am currently a high school student in matric. I have been getting above 90% for math throughout high school, and I have some experience teaching primary school mathematics. I also take part in a tutor program at my school helping other students with various subjects. I enjoy doing math, and I enjoy being able to explain it to others, helping them to understand and maybe even enjoy it as much as I do, because I truly believe that math becomes fun once you know what's going on!

About the lesson

Math can be confusing, and I aim to simplify it, taking it back to its core principles and helping others understand it better. My lessons are unhurried and focused on building a solid foundation upon which to build. Once the fundamentals are in place, it's all about repetition. Here we focus on practicing that which you have just learned, making sure you remember it and can apply it in more complex questions. I teach primarily from 9th to 11th grade, my lessons being either in English or in Afrikaans.
