About Josephine
I have been teaching French in high schools in both Scotland and Australia for 5 years, and have experience tutoring both French and English literature. I have taught French and Italian, and have also taught some Modern Studies/Society and Culture. I have studied French since High School, and spent a year living in Belgium in my early 20s. I have an undergraduate degree in French and International Relations, and a Masters degree in Teaching (Secondary). I am passionate about French and France and love to facilitate language learning!

My teaching methodology is centred around teaching the four macro skills - Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. I always begin with Listening (so that students can get a good exposure to key vocab and accurate pronunciation, then move to Speaking (repetition to cement new vocab, accent development), then applying that new vocab to Reading and Writing skills. I like to incorporate a rich variety of texts to supplement the learning - music, audio, video-clips, comics etc to provide authentic exposure to French, as well as embedding language learning in the wider context of culture. For example, learning about hand gestures, French food and drink, national holidays, history, music and art etc.
