About Alexander
I am an educator who believes that students need more individual help than they are oftentimes receiving in the classroom environment - and that's what I want to provide. When you are working with me, you won't have to worry about the behaviors of other students in the class, waiting for those students who are behind, or the multitude of other distractions that are present in the classroom environment. We will be free to focus on building the skills you will need to accomplish your goals, whatever they may be! I'll also try to show you how to leverage what you're passionate about and use it as fuel to focus and develop your skills in other areas (like math). As a born and raised geek who grew up and went to college to make a difference for students everywhere, let's make it so!

I'm an easy-going and methodical teacher, and my plan for our shared success will be to help you identify your areas of struggle and focus on those areas to build your proficiency. Don't just expect to be on the receiving end of a lecture, we are going to work through your trouble areas together to ensure mastery.
A typical lesson with me will consist of a review of the material using my virtual whiteboard, during which I encourage my students to ask questions - no matter how "stupid" they might think they are. I also teach technical literacy skills, especially in regards to mathematics, so that students can take advantage of new and popular technologies available to help them grow and succeed. Finally, if a student has a question about a particular assignment or lesson, I can give them directions and pointers to be able to better complete the lesson and alleviate any misunderstandings (but not do the lesson for them).
My lessons are mainly geared towards high school mathematics students who find themselves needing a little more help or an outside perspective so they can achieve their educational goals. I have previous experience teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Physics, and Pre-Calculus at the high-school level, so I stand ready to help students with most any topic high school can throw at them!
