About Austin
What makes me different as a tutor? I have a strong passion for teaching and practical applications of scientific discovery. I not only have experience delivering biology lectures at the University of Guelph, but also designing and teaching industry workshops meant to further the education of people currently in the workforce. I try to use this experience to foster an engaging learning environment. My experience is mainly focused on genetics including gene interactions, inheritance and genetic engineering. I have experience in scientific communication which is the practice of communicating scientific topics and research results in a manner that is easily understood by the general public.

School curriculums are packed full of concepts and it can be hard to identify which concepts are foundational. Oftentimes once these fundamental concepts are understood learning other topics is easier and more intuitive. My lessons are designed to be tailored to the student's needs and can be adjusted to help any student understand even the most complex topics. This means each lesson will be very specific to what the student needs to be successful. All lessons are goal-oriented and lessons will be tailored to whatever goal you have in mind. High-School and Elementary Courses Tutored: Any science class Grade 10 and below. Grade 11-12 Biology Types of Lessons Offered: High-School Crash Course - Pre-Semester Prep General Lessons/Test Prep - Cover any topic in the curriculum. Exam Prep - Cover the entire curriculum. University Courses Tutored: All first-year biology classes Select second to fourth-year biology classes (please contact to inquire about specific classes). Types of Lessons Offered: Pre-Lesson (Best Option) - For students who want a better understanding of the topic before the class is taught. This allows the student to be more confident engaging in classroom discussion. Post-Lesson - Cover any topic in class that was confusing or complex. Exam Prep - Cover a range of topics that will be covered in a cumulative exam.
