About Brian
I have 12 years of teaching experience. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and a Master of Education with a Specialization in Teacher Leadership, as well as a California Single Subject Credential. I have 10 years experience teaching high school English, from general ed classes to IB and AP courses, and come with the ability to effectively stimulate students’ intellectual, emotional, and social growth by creating appropriate educational activities and programs for the assigned class.

I bring a passion for teaching and a passion for my subject to my classroom and my students, and I work to continually provide memorable and meaningful learning experiences.
I strive to structure my teaching around my students' needs, rather than the demands of a particular concept or text. When I develop a lesson plan or a unit of study, I always begin by considering the needs of the students, and I work to utilize the skills students possess while introducing them to new concepts and ideas.
I value and encourage student choice within the curriculum, as I believe this helps foster a sense of pride and ownership in the work that students create. As well, it provides them with opportunities to express themselves in ways that are not only meaningful to them, but relevant to the worlds in which they live. I continually work to connect my curriculum to the world in which students live.
