About Tammy

I am a highly experienced personal tutor who loves to teach all ages and abilities in an individualised way.
I have over 22 years of experience in working with students in nearly all educational settings- from special needs schools to primary, secondary, and even college levels. I have spent many years working in both Primary and Secondary education which has given me excellent knowledge and the necessary skills in order to help students right through from Reception up to GCSE level.

For the past three, years I have been teaching students online. I am qualified to support students with specific learning difficulties-I have helped hundreds of students during my career to achieve their potential and I have often specialised in supporting students with special needs- ranging from dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD, SPLD, and more. I have taught on a one-to-one basis as well as in small groups and even whole classes of students.
I am able to really motivate my students and thrive on making learning enjoyable whilst ensuring excellent progress.
I have an excellent knowledge of the ever-changing curriculum1
I am highly experienced in teaching spelling, reading, writing, punctuation, grammar, and phonics.
I have many years of experience in aiding students as they prepare for their English GCSEs- I have a lot of experience with AQA English GCSE-particularly with the following texts: Frankenstein, Lord of the Flies, An Inspector Calls, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and A Christmas Carol.
My experience with SATs is also excellent and I love helping Year 6 students as they prepare for these tough tests.
I am experienced in teaching English and Maths Functional Skills.
I am also extremely well experienced in teaching maths from beginners up to Year 9/KS3 level.

I am a qualified TEFL teacher and so have a lot of experience with teaching English as a second language.

I am a highly experienced personal, online tutor who loves to teach all ages and abilities in an individualised way.

I firmly believe that every single student is different and I teach according to each student's specific needs and learning styles. I enjoy really getting to know my students and then forming my lessons around them. I like to follow the three-part lesson approach- a fun, lesson-based ice-breaker activity- focus on the main purpose of the lesson and then conclude with a preliminary activity that briefly revises the subject covered. I pride myself on being an extremely enthusiastic, fun tutor- whilst always covering the given material thoroughly and ensuring that each student makes progress in every single session- challenging each student when possible so that my lessons are engaging and progressive.

I am extremely passionate about teaching and love to help each and every student- it gives me so much pride to be able to help students to achieve their potential and to encourage them to become independent learners as much as possible.
